The Bugbear of the Selfishness Belief

For Your Journal:

We fall into a habit of denying ourselves the space and time to nurture ourselves emotionally, spiritually, physically, creatively and in other important ways, believing, even perhaps subconsciously, that it would be so selfish to "pamper" or "spoil" ourselves in this way--when this kind of care can really revitalize us for the people we love, for others we mentor, steward, or for whom we care.

Write about this selfishness belief in your life. Are you aware of it? When has it shown up to pester you?

How have you defied it?

How has it influenced or controlled your choices about how you schedule your time or how you share your gifts?

How will you proceed and why?
